PSP/PS3 HD drive - Image 1Dvineo presented an intriguing accessory for the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Sony PlayStation Portable: An HD movie player! The drive has a wide range of compatible formats whether they be video, audio, images and game saves. You can get digital media from non-write protected discs, convert them to desired formats and store them to the PS3 hard drive or the PSP SD stick.

In terms of videos it can read MKV, Xvid, DivX, MPEG 1, M1P, MPEG 2, TS, M2P, WMV, ASF, MP4 and AVI. The interface lets you manage and back up files when you attach the drive to a PC. If you're into music, it can read CDs, iTunes and other popular formats. You can convert WAV files to MP3 with automatic completion of track details via the online server's help. What's more, management is as easy as dragging and dropping the data.

With the Xploder software, images can be viewed in a gallery as thumbnails on your PSP and PS3. Again, dragging and dropping is the operative term. The same is true about managing game saves that you saved for games.

The HD drive has a lot more to offer than just this. The tech savvy among you will find pleasure in the details entailed in the Dvineo fact sheet. If you want to learn more about it, follow the read URL and tell us what you think.

what a waste...

This is just a waste of money for something i can already do manually. Itunes already organizes my music and theres freeware for video converting. Oh well, it could be good for people who don't know what they're doing.

...

Exactly. This is a waste of real news space. Advertisments go on the right side, not in news space. DVINEO CANNOT BE TRUSTED. They're sleazy, sketchy, and crooks.

"...store them to the PS3 hard drive or the PSP SD stick." That would be really useful, that is if the psp used an SD stick :|

Just about to point that out myself.

If you are going to advertise stuff to bulk out the news section, at least spell the companies name correctly. Divineo no dvineo. One poster with a low IQ has already copied it wrongly.

me too

i thought all these years that my psp uses MSduo. very funny product
by - 2007-05-12 01:44:50
LOL SD stick

What this think can do? I'm so disturb about PSP using SD stick. LOL.
by - 2007-05-12 02:30:28
wow, this newspost is a mess

This is neither "An HD drive" or "An HD movie player" if I understood right. It lets you store movies and tunes on the PSP? No *****, I must have forgotten I bought it, because I already can do that. What remains is a simple movie/audio converter. Like its magic converting *randomformat* to MP3 - there are tons of freeware utilities doing the same.
by - 2007-05-12 02:55:22
sigh

Cheat Saves and Movie Manager, another waste.
by - 2007-05-12 03:13:28
well this is silly

why buy this for an extortionate 35 $ when you can go to the forum and download sections of THIS WEBSITE and get EVERYTHING included in this for FREE.... 0 $
by - 2007-05-12 03:45:38
what the...

Can you imagine the guy on Dvineo who got that amazing idea to design this product? If he must be an idiot, the management must be even worse super morons going further and letting them develop it. Who's going to buy this crap?
by - 2007-05-12 04:09:19
sorry to be a grammar nazi, but..

it's "A HD drive", not "An HD drive".
by - 2007-05-12 04:19:30
...

You are correct for the U.S. only. The letter "H" is pronounced "aych" rather that "haych" in countries south as UK and Australia, which means that "an HD drive" would be correct.
by - 2007-05-12 04:21:47
An HD drive

It's a silent H in "High-Definition", thus it is "An HD drive"
by - 2007-05-12 04:34:06
Jeez...

Comes to something when the most interesting discussion about this item is whether it should be a HD drive or an HD drive. What an utterly useless piece of crap product.
by - 2007-05-12 05:36:05
wtf?

Eh, how does this thing have anything to with drives? HD drive? There is no such thing.
by - 2007-05-12 08:26:44
News?

Why pay for what you can get for free?

.......... Igh? Hhhhhigh.

I feel the same way...

They host apps to convert umd to iso and host apps that allow you to access iso's from pc hard drive via wifi on your psp but call you a pirate from trying to use the apps and when you ask them how to use it they lock down your thread. The readme.txt provided with the wifi apps don't tell you how to use them and when you want to learn how and ask questions in the forums they treat you like a leper. The entire QJ site aside from it's download section is a waste of time and a huge colossal bad joke where they assume all of their members are retarded ass holes and pirates.

360 gets Forza 2 and Tiberian wars PS3 gets this

LOL the latest big release for the PS3 a HD MOVIE PLAYER ha ha...
by Wicked_Insider - 2007-05-12 08:50:15
I'm on the cusp...

of joining the darkside due to how QJ has treated me. And I'm about to get vengeful if they keep treating their members like they don't need them. This blog post is also a joke, come on... this is an AD it doesn't belong as a blog post. HD Drive my ass, it's a CD software for $35 and the DL section here already hass all the stuff entailed in this LAME CD and for free. I'm sorry Glen D. I don't mean to be rude to you, I'm not directing my anger twords you but recently in the forums I've had moderators gang up on me so now I'm about to get postal with QJ if they keep it up. I not a pirate but they treat me like on, they might not be ass holes but I can treat them like ass holes, just returning the love.

Drive?

Some people have asked already, but in what way is this product a drive? The description sounds like it's Windows software (presumably on a CD) that just acts as a fancy UI for "managing" your movies etc.... of which there are like 5 dozen that are free... no?
by - 2007-05-12 10:43:50
...

its "an HD Drive" regardless of your country. Its just like "an hour"
by - 2007-05-12 11:50:03
anglsh r rtrded

..."haych"? I uhh dunno about the east coast of the US, but we on the west coast pronounce it the same as you UK'ers. Long 'a' ending with a 'ch', or "aych". Like the word "egg", except with a different ending. As for 'a' versus "an", it all depends upon whether you pronounce the letters or the words of the acronym. "an aych dee" or "a high definition". Grammatically speaking, I believe there is no specific way of writing it or saying it because grammatically speaking acronyms are a considered a bastardization of the language by the MLA (Modern Language Association -- the folks that decide what is good US english and what isn't) and whomever it is that decides what UK english is.

Ni66er

I will buy this "drive" and put it into my PSP“s SD-slot. Duh
by - 2007-05-12 13:31:06
O my God

this is real news! yay! Everything was spelled right, and it taught me that the psp uses SD cards!Wow Thanx Qj! Now Ima go try to force an sd card into the psp!Surely This entry wasnt an advertisement!
by - 2007-05-12 14:10:02
doesnt sound bad

it aint all about putting on psp sd stick... or if it suppose to meant MS for Memory Stick. It all about putting it on PS3 hard drive that plays xvid and divx, even wmv and others that the original PS3 XMB could not support these files.. so it just a swap trick for multimedia... thats all
by - 2007-05-12 14:12:28
very sad

Since you can get programs like this for free in the DL section i would think this goes against what qj stands for. Way to sell out douche bags.
by Act II - 2007-05-12 15:16:33
well

you only say "an" when the next word you say after it starts with a vowel, but since its a letter, idk. and on another note, i hate the fact that hd means both high definition and hard disk
by - 2007-05-12 17:25:35
haha

hahhahaaa go ***** a donkey you troll
by - 2007-05-12 23:16:15
My thought

I was tricked into here by QJ because I thought they meant hard drive, not high definition.
by TPot - 2007-05-13 05:05:29
I am still not sure what they meant.

The blog tells very little except advertising speach. I hope QJ got a few dollars for it.
