Twice the price from the same retailer, Lik-Sang. You can't compare it with other retailers as the 4GB version might be cheaper from the other retailer when they have it in stock.

I would rather get the memory stick rather the hard drive. Yeah, you can easily loose the stick but why the hell would you want to make your psp even more less portable? It's already big enough alone without the HDD, but now you want it bigger? That's why the memory stick is better. It doesn't add to the weight or size of the PSP. And for those that are afraid to lose it, uh, let's see... DON'T *****ING TAKE IT OUT OF THE PSP? For those that do nothing but fiddle with the stick around your house, uh durr. You're gunna lose it. I've had 4 sticks, not to mention 3 others for my digital camera and I've never lost a single one. That's because I use them for what they're purpose was and don't throw them around or play with them. If you're concerned with the price just wait a few months to a year and the price will be down. Or you can just buy two 2GB sticks.

To #28: Apple is able to make the iPods less expensive because they use actual hard drives. Flash memory, like the Memory Stick/Memory Stick Pro Duo or SD cards, are a lot more expensive, because they're small and for their size, they can hold a lot of information.

This is true lunacy. No way will I spen perfectly good dough on a memory stick when i could get an ipod for the same price and have a gazillion more gigs. Please, someone find a way to hook an ipod up to a psp!

Not all iPods use hard drives, there is a a which uses flash. This memory stick certainly is expensive, but the initial pricepoint of all technology is high, I recall the PSX costing $AU899 and now the PSone retails for something less than $AU150

I think it`s not really expensive. Sony have to develop it first, and it`s not only for the PSP.

If you think $280 is too much for a 4G, then get 2 x 2G MS duos for $200. Simple, why ***** about the prices? Prices will drop no doubt, but it will take awhile. By the time they drop, you'll all ***** about how much more Sony charges for the 8G! LOL
