Stop calling others fool when you're obviously one. This is the high-speed stick, the one pcmall's selling is the regular one. Now, go and buy a tons so I can pity the fool.

Its not in stock either. Why do they keep posting crap like this. I can post a lot of links to sites that have them for this cheap, some cheaper by a few dollars. The only catch its pre-order, and no estimated ship date is available. This is useless.

It should be out in the next few days. I'd get the Sandisk gaming pro duo though.

IT'S NOT HIGHSPEED!

They've just made a mistake. Real high-speed costs $349.99 on the same website, as you can see here: http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail~dpno~536002.asp

for $199.88 you already get the SANDISK 2GB Memory Stick Ultra II Pro DUO at www.jr.com (http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4032406). also the SANDISK 2GB Gaming Memory Stick PRO duo only costs $149.88.

But can anybody explain me the difference between the Ultra and the Gaming version of SANDISK, is it the write/read performance or only the color ;-) ?

but does this mean that the ultra version is even faster than the gaming one, because on gamespot they only tested the gaming version ...

i didn't find any direct comparision between ultra and gaming, nor a real specification from scandisk about the read and write throughput of the gaming edition.

The Gaming edition is exactly the same as the normal sandisk pro duo (that's directly from Sandisk technical support)just a difference case.

It's not in stock! It says "call us" next to "usually ships:".

I know sites that sell them for less then $100 but they are all out of stock.

"it's not highspeed, it's not highspeed" quit whinning it does not matter that much and it isn't worth paying twice the price for a little more speed.

This PCMall company apparently SUCKS. I opened the two links provided above and found this:

On the MSXM2GS page, the manufacturer part number is MSXM2GS, but the description is for the MSX-M2GN. On the MSXM2GN page, it's reversed. The descriptions do not match the products.

In the short descriiptions at the top, the $350 card has "Minimum write speeds of 15Mbps" while the $158 card supports "Read and write speeds up to 80Mbps".

Finally, in the main description (in bold), the $350 card is a "2 GB High Speed Memory Stick PRO" - NOT A DUO?!?

What a friggin waste of time to even look at this company.

You evidently have no idea what English means if you need to ask that question you fool. And be a real man and post under a username instead of the anonymous psedonym. Oh sorry, you are a spotty 12 year old oink with silvery stains on your trousers - the thought of standing up and being counted makes you piss your trousers doesn't it?

You all need to remember something when it comes to these companies. If they list the product as being out of stock and have a low price, it can almost be guarenteed that when they come back in, they will have jacked the price up to 'normal' levels. When the PSP's first came out, Zipzoomfly has a 1GB for an insane $90.00 but was out of stock. Once they were back in... close to $180.

This is some high quality discussion here. I would love to see some additional tests of read/write speeds including the Ultra II and sony "high speed". Is it possible to request articles on Tomshardware?

You are correct sir the comments here have gone down the crapper. As far as the speeds I got one of those "high speed" cards and cannot really tell the differenct in the speed. Granted I have only transfered files of about 600mb and below but that should be about the largest file I will ever need to use. In my opinion the speed does not out weigh the extra price. But that's just my opinion I could be wrong.

Ooooh, you are a man - I mean to make up something like '****nell' must have taken all of three seconds and taken so much courage! A quick English lesson son, 'diffirent' is actually spelt 'different' and 'speeks' is actually spelt 'speaks'. Oh, let me guess - you spelt them that way deliberately? Tell me, do you make a special effort to act like a complete **** or does it come naturally?

Oh, and I am English and live in Bedfordshire you little prick.

Just htought id say, in case someone in the UK is interested in buying one, i got my 1gb Sandisk for £61.50, incl next day delivery from Emartbuy.com...have to say their service was exceptional, even changed my order after an hour(coz i orderd the gaming one by mistake, which is more expensive(why?)) and they still delivered nex day!!.

the 1gb is proving exceptionally useful.

The Gaming edition is exactly the same as the normal sandisk pro duo (that's directly from Sandisk technical support)just a difference case.

This is unfortunately not the case. The Sandisk Gaming sticks use MLC (multi-level cell) memory. The plain-Jane blue colored Sandisk sticks use SLC (single-level cell) architecture. What this means to you is that the "Gaming" sticks, which appear to be far more extreme, are actually cheaper to produce, slower, and have a shorter lifespan than their SLC cousins.

Educate yourselves: http://www.memorynet.co.uk/info/faq-single-layer-cell-versus-multi-level-cell.shtml

All,

I have just spoken with PC Mall about this card and estimated ship date. As of 4:00p EST, PC Mall is receiving their first shipment of these cards. Unfortunately, they are only receiving six (6) cards and they have forty (40) orders that need filled!

As for the speed of the card, he had nothing to say. He was unsure that there were different "speeds." The only thing I can say is go by the website and complain that they made the mistake by sending you the wrong card (if you do receive the slow 2gb).

i hate it i still have my 32mb cause the seconde i decide to go buy a bigger mem card theres a huge price shift if i had brought a 1gb when i first got my psp i would have wasted about $100 i think ill just wait until samsung comes out with a 4gb for 200 or less that should last me a year or 2

LOL @ itaintrite.
On a related note, I was looking through the Sunday magazines and was cvery surprised at the across-the-board price drops on all flash memory based cards. 1 gigabyte flash cards selling for $59.99 and a 1 gigabyte usb jump drive selling for $49.99 (all after rebates of course). It seems there was a unanimous decision among memory companies to drop memory prices to stimulate sales. That would explain the drop in 2 GB card prices as well. From my watch it took a little less than 6 months for the price of 1 gig cards to drop to the price that 512 MB cards were at (they're now at 30 bucks...yikes). So maybe in another 6 months we can expect 2 gig pro duos to drop under $100. Cool no?

WARNING: THIS IS NOT MSX-M2GN! REPEAT THIS IS NOT THE HIGH SPEED CARD.

M2GN is the High Speed version. M2GS
(which the part number states) is the plain Duo Pro. This can be found at many places online for $150 (check froogle). DON'T BE SCAMMED BY PCMALL. I've fallen victim to their poor details and even worse cust service before.

I had found this ad a week ago and almost acted on it. Luckily saw the part number didnt match up. Also, as a caveat, there is no real benefit to having the high speed card if you are using your PSP as your card writer, since it doesn't support high speed writing.

Huh... even tho it's not High Speed, it's the cheapest I've seen it... these go for 175+ on eBay...

...and besides, the PSP isn't capable of taking advantage of the "High Speed" anyways, so anyone who buys Pro Duo's only for the PSP is wasting their money. ;)

Well, I would ask anyone who already own a psp memory other than the weak 32mb that comes with the psp to not buy anything else till samsung joins the market! They will provide 2-4 gig by next year! So if u have 256 - 512 - 1g stick with that for now. Don't buy anything Yet.

PS : next year means the first Q1 of 2006.
