Sega has been really pulling out the big guns this year. Classic franchises such as Sonic have been fairly strong this year on and offline and seeing the latest iteration of the House of the Dead series which has been banned in this country and here's another one which will probably be banned, Aliens: Colonial Marines.
The video will be nothing new for anyone who attended E3 this year, but the video is incredibly cool and has a running commentary from Randy Pitchford, the God from Gearbox Software. It's is a fairly long and in-depth on the series, gameplay and details, the footage is an amazing recreation of the base on LV426. The base that is eventually inhabited by the cast of the second Alien film. The exterior storm adds a beautiful atmosphere, dropping any apprehension of jump scares, the game is immersed in the suspense that is created from the films.
The way the creatures move in the video are incredible, leaping from broken bits of scenario, sliding down the sides and climbing on the walls and ceilings. One small gripe, because I'm a douche, is the blood splatter on the screen, looks like something out of the old HOTD games, nothing really terrible, just out of place for the game.
I could not be happier with how it looks. The dialogue and voice-acting is a bit hit and miss, with a reference to Hudson (GAME OVER MAN) from the commentator, show's this is a real fan, making a real game that is probably gonna be really good. After the fairly mediocre Aliens vs. Predator last year, I actually completely welcome our Alien overlords.
