Saints Row 3 Trailer Mocks Modern Warfare and Battlefield 3

SaintsRow 3 is basically the one game I'm excited for for this year. Not Arkham City, not Battlefield, not Modern Warfare 3. I do plan on playing all those games eventually, but my money is literally on Saints Row 3.

As the above trailer shows, Saints Row 3 will have everything! Half naked black pimps driving tuk tuks while you fire rocket launchers, jets that you can shoot everything at, insane guys in furry mascot outfits gunning dudes down, this is the everything game. The only disappointment I could see is that I just don't have enough time to play it...or it get's delayed...or my copy gets broken...or...oh my God there are so many things that could go wrong...I just don't want to think about it.

Anyway,the game comes out on the 15th of November and I hope you have a pre-order, coz I know I do!

I have to fully agree. This is the game that I'm waiting for as well. I'm almost beside myself that this is a THQ game. I barely played the first one and thought it was crap. I didn't expect the second one to be that good but after a few hours I found myself loving the game. By the end of the game I decided that Saints Row 2 was a better game than GTA 4 simply for the multiplayer experience. Sure the graphics weren't as good and the controls weren't as "sharp." Arguably, GTA4 handled pretty bad when compared to earlier games in the series. This game is going to be the shit.

GtaIV didnt handle bad, it was really good once used to it. it was just quite a change from the older ones.

As for saints row, the second game was one of the worst made games Ive played for a long time. full of good, funny ideas but spoilt by the actual gameplay, controls being a massive game breaker.

How anyone can compare gta with this is just mad. its worse than comparing mw3 and bf3. each to their own though.

You are right the controls could be crappy most of the time. I'm just talking about the fun factor that I had with the game. GTAIV was a great game. But I have the feeling with each release that they are just trying to get more cinematic and striving to make a mobster movie first and a game second. They add neat things but nothing as stupid and silly as in Saints Row.

GTA games started out stupid and silly. Just go back to one of the top down GTA's and you'll see instantly what I mean as soon as you run over a line of Hari Krsna and watch the points rack up. As GTA became more mainstream they lost that juvenile sense of humor and turned to a more serious approach.

Saints row feels more like what GTA could have been like if they had kept that silly stupid approach.

So yes to each his own. I like to laugh when I play games and have fun. I don't always want to take them seriously.

I have to add that I never played it single player, only Co-Op. Your mileage may vary if you don't have fun friends to play with.

gta is the favourite target for ambitious politicians and the like, and when you risk that you must balance things very well to avoid sinking for good. that's why in 3d gta games you can't really kill hari krisnas in rows, like in a cartoonish topdown gta. they had to compromise some of the controversial stuff for the 3d view to avoid attractin too much legal (and they still got alot of it, anyway!). saints row is not even by half as famous and notorious as gta, so it risks less of a punishment for any crazy stuff they might pull.

and saints row 2 for pc is the only game i regret ever paying for, and solely for the controls. steering the cars in this game is almost impossible, every handbrake-turn spins out of control and the normal steering is way too sensitive, is impossible to drive smooth and clean like in gta. at first i also found gta4 (pc version) to have a bad control for cars, but then i thought for a minute and remembered that every gta felt like that for the first time. but after a while i learned and cruising around with full speed becomes a breeze with most cars, it's a joy to drive in these games!
