Different Dante Dances in new Devil May Cry

Gamescom keeps dishing up the goods with Ninja Theory opening the floodgates with their new trailer for DmC

 

Whilst the trailer offers nothing we haven't seen before from the franchise, the online backlash is something new. The YouTube comments and dislikes alone haven't really given the game a far go, but I've never been a fan of DmC personally. It seems that it just is more of the same and that the difficulty levels and friends stories have turned me off the series.

 

Dante looks different, but I heard about that before the videos came out. I think Devil May Cry is copying the people who started copying them. I do love the God of War series which is how I was introduced to this genre, but I guess I never really went back and picked up this series.

 

For those of you whom who have played the series? Excited, non-plussed?

ppl complain to much the game looks better then any dmc game out, and fine anime dante does look better but its no big deal atleast there goina make it not just gp to the same place 20 times like dmc4

It's a shame that this loser anime fapper can't see that this is obviously a great looking game. The fact that he isn't as sexually attracted to the new Dante means shit to me. This game will end up pretty good from the looks of it.

Well, I agree that the gameplay(most important) looks good, but they've taken an iconic hero and turned him into someone who's appearance isn't recognizable.
I mean the only distinguishing trait is the red coat now, Dante has become "average".
Dante's entire existence is now in his coat.(Gintama reference 8) )
Also Japanese games should stay with their "anime" look, because they are more experienced with that art style than with the American drawing style.

I think the Japanese should keep to their style and really set themselves apart from Western Developers, it may be a niche, but I think developers like Hideo Kojima and Suda51 have shown it's a niche, that works, even when you're ripping into Western Culture.

This is a prequel and I guarantee by the end of the game he will have white hair and look more like the Dante you are used to. You may not like it but this is Capcom's way of showing you where Dante came from and that he wasn't always the GQ model you guys pine for so much. You boys sure get nasty when your hero ain't so pretty.

What is the difficulty like with the previous DMC games?
I've been looking at some of the previous games and the art style varies between fairly mid-90's RPG and grey-brown pallette seen in current FPS's. The new one is a tiny bit more colourful, reminds me of Bayonetta and all those games, which is probably why I made that comment on it being a reverse copy-cat now.
They Scythe weapon does look like tonnes of fun.

i like the combat, seems more quick and fluent.The new appearance of Dante may have some fans walking around like the have something up their butt but, looks shouldn't matter as long as game play is good as well the story.
