Rumor: Grand Theft Auto: London for PS3 Q4 2006? |

Well, ‘Tis the season for rumors and speculation, and lately, we have seen our fair share. The latest rumor comes to us from an alleged Rockstar employee from Glasgow, Scotland and involves Grand Theft Auto. According to the source, the next title in the GTA series “will be titled Grand Theft Auto: London and will take place in the great city of London in 1997.”
If the info is to be believed, Rockstar will be doing away with the familiar 3 island system employed in the other GTA titles, in favor of a North, South, East, West system. The gangster theme is said to be making another appearance, as the character is an ex-gangster who starts in the East end of London, and can unlock the North End, South End and West End respectively. Current developmental focus is on the story line, as the game is approximately 60% completed, having the graphics and physics engines already completed.
The game is currently set to launch on the PS3 in Europe and North America in Q4 2006, so lets keep our fingers crossed. Again, none of this has been officially confirmed by either Rockstar or Sony, so take it with a grain of salt!

This game better have some rap stations.
I hated Vice City, because it lacked the Rap music.

gonna be a nice change of things. you know driving on the opposite side of the road and whatnot. I remember playing gta:london 1969 when i was younger and it took me a while to get the whole opposite side of the road thing right lol.

AuronX - that is not proof at all. A monkey could have made that site for all we know.
DarkgamerDX - Whats wrong with Rockstar (a company based in the UK) making a game based in the UK. I've never complained about games being made with american accents.
Gustavo - I agree but vice city couldn't really have a rap station because rap was not main stream in the 80's there was a slight following of it but no where near what there is today. I personally hope there isn't a rap station in the next one. I hope there is a station that plays some decent punk rock.

I really hope thats not a ps3 gta screenshot. it looks no better than any of the current games.
seeing as this game is just rumours im guessing that its not a screenshot. but if thats what its gonna look like then it may as well come out on ps2.

Anyways I hope that the game will be based in London as I live very close to it. The only thing I am wondering is that is this true or false. Lets see....

God damnit people, graphical is not to be used in the sense that "this is very graphical." That makes no sense.
Am I the only one who thinks the chance of it being anything BUT GTA4 are next to 0?
The reason GTA:VC and GTA:SA had specific titles is because they were offshoots of GTAIII, and not actual sequels.

Plus they dont use real cities.
Anyways if its true that the engine is already complete then this can only mean that we'll see it playable at CES. But doesnt it seem very unlikely that they'll have an entire next-gen engine complete before they have final hardware.

Gta4 isnt going to be on the X360. I say this because Common san andreas barely fit on a dual layer dvd.Also, this time Rockstar Added alot of things such as a bigger area, longer radio,And detail to everything.This time if you drop a can in the game it acuatly has physics.

ummm darkgamerdx, san andreas used no compression techniques that the 360 games will use when it becomes a problem.
I'm sure it will come on the 360 a little after it comes to the ps3

You are wrong DarkgamerDX. San Andreas is around 3gb on PC (Using its highest-res textures by the way). I don't know where you get your info from.

he got his figures from his ass...he believes that blu-ray is better because all the games are over 9GBs...when not all of them are...and all the old ones were not archived and compressed using new methods..but oh well.
I will get the ps3 even if gta4 is on 360 anyhow...so not a big deal.
