Joystiq is reporting that game developers are finding it mighty expensive to develop for the Playstation 3 and as such are pulling their support and bringing their games over to the inexpensive Xbox 360 development environment. Though this is labeled as a rumor be on the look out for some PR damage control soon.

“In the (Japanese) game industry, many people are losing trust in Kutaragi’s non-stop pursue of this evolution, people are leaving PS3 at a rate worse than Nintendo’s GameCube era” (source unknown).

Several developers, like John Carmack, have publicly announced a preference for the Xbox 360. But could that number be growing? The recent cancellation of Condemned for the PS3 seems to suggest as much.

Unfounded rumours.

Microsoft is doing very well in getting plenty of Japanese support on the Xbox360, but they still can't get a hold of the big names like Dragon Quest, Metal Gear Solid, and Final Fantasy. Sorry Bill, but as much as I love FFXI, it doesn't give bragging rights to say that you've got Final Fantasy on the Xbox360.

zomg John Carmack and Itagaki have claimed support for Xbox360!

Sorry, but neither of them are as well-known and beloved as developers like Hideo Kojima and Yoshinori Kitase.

I wouldnt be overly suprised if this was true. Sony didnt go to the lengths MS did to make it easy on developers. The fact that the PS3 uses a whole new CPU architecture wont help matters much if at all.

This could be Sony's single biggest threat.

Yeah, im not a sony pony or microsoft fan boy but I honestly think this is true, you have all read the specifications right ?. Not an easy peice of kit to program for if you ask me.

Anyway, Microsoft will dominate the market regardless. They have the upper hand this time.

Try to remember that something like this happened with PS2...it came out and only 1 and a half year later great great games started to be released exactly because PS2 hardware was hard to programme...

Sony will kick Microsoft's ass and they know that so they're just playin the game while they can =)

Who cares about Bill anyway?
