Beginning Tuesday, November 22nd, the Starhawk Private beta will be available for download on the PSN.
According to Sony, the Private beta invites will be rolled out over a number of weeks leading up to Christmas and the New year, so if you miss the first round it is likely you will still get in before the year is out.
At launch, the Starhawk beta will only have a couple of maps playable in a Capture the flag game mode.
Starhawk will also feature a matchmaking system that will match you up against players of your skill level, but in the beginning of the beta this might not mean much given the small amount of players that are likely to be testing.
If you don't wish to play via the Starhawk matchmaking system you can play in custom player created games from the game list also.

The Starhawk beta forums are available for anyone lucky enough to get in on Tuesday and should be used to report any bugs you find in game.
If you miss out on the first round, you might still be able to get in to the beta by signing up over at the Starhawk website.
Additionally, if you received a voucher from purchasing Uncharted 3, you'll be given access in early 2012 to the Starhawk beta.
