The music and sound are perfect as they create an atmosphere and score which I haven't even heard for quite a while. The music is done by The sound design alone is good enough to immerse you in the cold prisons, the buzzing blimps and the raw jungles this game inhabits. At one point in the opening levels there is a mission prompt to get to a torture chamber and you really hear it. I just stopped to listen to what was happening.

I have a few minor gripes with the game, and I'm having a gripe with myself because I'm unable to come up with a synonym for gripe.
Sometimes the elevators wouldnt go up, or you'd have to go down then all the way back up. At times the game isn't exactly helpful towards players when they get stuck, I'm often for help or hint systems, especially with something similar to the Abe's Odyssey series. The will not let you pick up weapons even when you clearly have seen your character with that weapon before. So any acquired weapons will need to be found, even if you just took out fifteen penguins with a hand gun and you're just itching to pick up their sub-machine gun.
I think Rocketbirds is a fairly underrated game on the PSN and while they've had a nice marketing campaign by Sony, I feel like there is only a little word coming out of the press about this game and they really need to show off what they got. There has been a lot of time, love and creativity spent on this game, even for a simple sidescrolling adventure, but it's fun, replayable and great-looking. I can't wait to see what Ratloop make next and will welcome it with an open mind, but high expectations.
Oh and to give an arbitrary number I'd give is a 8/10. It's fun and well-made, but some parts could have been tightened and added to.
