Yesterday, we talked about rumors regarding the next bit of DLC for Borderlands 2. Based on achievements and some in-game files, it was thought that a bit of pirate-themed content was on the way, and soon.

As it turns out, those rumors were right. Extremely right, in fact: Gearbox has confirmed that Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty will launch for Borderlands 2 players next week. For those keeping track, that’s the original launch week for the Mechromancer DLC that launched this week instead, putting Gearbox at a ridiculous pace of content release so far.

The new DLC involves an area of Pandora known as Oasis, and will likely involve plenty of pirate puns, looting and, of course, shooting things in the face. Pick it up for $9.99, or a certain number of Microsoft pretend points.
