XCOM Shooter Set for Fiscal 2014 |
Listed in: News Tags: 2K Games, 2k marin, xcom
2K Marin's XCOM shooter - the one nobody wanted - is still in the works. This is the game that was being developed alongside the excellent XCOM successor, XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Last we heard, it had evolved from a first-person shooter to a squad-based, third-person shooter that would be downloadable, rather than full retail. That was back in October. While this may bring it a little closer to its XCOM roots, the fans were still dubious.
The exact words from 2K Marin is that the developer "still continues to make progress" and that the game is penciled in for "fiscal year 2014." So that means it will be out between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014. Basically this just confirms what was flying around last year.
In the meantime, XCOM: Enemy Unknown continues to receive DLC and be awesome.
