Why Modern Warfare 3 won't have a beta?

Sledgehammer have explained the reason why they won't offer a trial for their hotly anticipated shooter.

DICE has received some major criticism over its recent Battlefield 3 beta build, a potential problem that Sledgehammer Games wants to avoid.

"Sometimes it does backfire on you," says Sledgehammer Games boss Glen Schofield. He went on to explain: "Personally I don't like to show a painting in progress, I don't like to show anything in progress, because you know as the artist what it's going to look like when it's done and you're looking at it now and don't feel right about it, because it's not finished."

A beta gives developers an oppurtunity to further polish the game before the final build gets release. Sounds to me like  Sledgehammer is confident in what they are doing right now. You can look forward on Modern Warfare 3 when it launches this November.

when do they ever release a demo or beta after the fact the game has been out for 6 months to a year. if i had a beta for black ops i wouldn't of wasted my money on that crap of a game plus i doubt ill be getting mw3 black ops spoiled it for and so did mw2. fell in love with bfbc2 and will continue down that road unless proven otherwise. My boy rage here has had it in for the cod series ever since I used to whoop his ass on cod4 shipment lol
But it's kl I hear what he's saying BF3 does have it's improvements on the cod series iterations which are rehashed every year or so but this year who knows
I might just get both for the fun of it

The only reason the BF3 BETA backfired is because retards don't know what BETA actually means.

I'd rather have a beta out so the developers can find bugs and fix them before the game hits the shelves.

Having release day patches is pretty bad as major bugs should be found and addressed in beta testing.

yeah and the game was running smooth the last 3 days for me. only problem was a guy on the opposing team was lying in the wall but cuz my team worked together we still dominated them :D

I'd rather have an open alpha so they have more time to fix more problems and improve. ;-)

Except that isn't what they really used the beta for. A beta requires a lot of testing and time. Doing it a few weeks before release is just silly. Their test was server test seeing if it can handle everything. It'd be bad if the exp server, battlelog,etc etc went down during launch.

As for me the BF3 beta was a turn off, because of Origin. I was alright with it during the alpha, but the beta.. I just don't know. I just don't want to support it as of now.

MW3 will be worse than BF3 BETA , bcz bf3 now localized most bugs while ACTI focus on sales and of course they say later ohh we are sorry a update will be released next day next mount next year . no sorry .

Mind you, they kind of did have open testing already at the Call of Duty XP. Here, people played loads of MP, and I'm sure there were some bugs spotted that would be fixed on release.
