What’s Up with this “New” PS3?

We’ve heard countless rumors in the last few months regarding Sony’s supposed development of a PS3 “extra-slim,” but the company has denied development at every possible opportunity. Even when faced with leaks from retailers and other recent news (one as recent as this weekend), Sony has absolutely refused to spill the beans.

And now there’s this:

ps3rum2

That’s an ad from a Polish games retailer, one that advertises a “New PS3” design. According to the ad, the new PS3 will be offered in 12GB and 500GB model, priced accordingly. There’s nothing about the aesthetics of the device, so it could just be the PS3 we already have with slightly different specs, but who knows?

Naturally, Sony is keeping mum on the subject. But most insiders are expecting a “surprise” announcement at this week’s Tokyo Game Show.

What do you think?

12GB? You can install maybe 3 games on it. Hope there is either cloud storage or upgradeable HDD.

I thought that too, but the 12gb figure is mentioned two times in the source.

Could be a translation problem.
