Operation: Silencer was the last Mass Effect 3 event and it required the operatives to kill 3 million banshees. Many were wondering if the "goals" were just lofty numbers thrown out that meant nothing and that we'd get our reward no matter what. But that is not the case; someone's keeping track of this stuff. Last event, the requisite 3 million banshees were not killed.

So at this event, called Operation: Shieldwall, there will be banshees everywhere. When you play against the Reapers, there will be a shit ton more of them and they'll even show up when you're fighting Geth or Cerberus.

So that's the punishment, but there is an Allied Goal as well: promote 50,000 characters and everyone gets a Victory Pack with a high chance for a rare weapon (yay?). There is also a Squad Goal of promoting 3 characters, for which you'll get a Commendation Pack.

It runs May 25th 6 PM PST - May 27th 5 PM PST.

There's a known glitch in which PS3 users won't see the cool intro screen when logging on to MP, but the event will still be working for you.
