Watch This: New Plastic Your Kids can Scream About

We heard about Skylanders Giants way back at the New York toy convention, but Activision has been fairly quiet on the issue since then. Except, of course, at E3, where the new figures were on full display. There’s just one problem with displaying the update to a relatively niche product at E3: There’s way too much other stuff happening for anyone to notice.

With the E3 hype out of the way and everyone’s post-mortems finished, it’s time to go back through some of the smaller displays we may have missed along the way. Starting with this:

Activision confirmed that buying the Giants figures unlocks access to these massive characters in-game, and that there are 40 new toys coming this year.

So…better start taking those overtime hours, parents!

Fuck Skylanders. My kids and myself collected them all. Sure, we had fun doing it. But then once you get into the game BAM, one of your characters stops working. Get a replacement and start all over again with that character. XP, money, bought items...EVERYTHING!!!! Keep playing and BAM, another one bits the dust. Then another...then ANOTHER! Seems to only happen to characters that hit level 10.

We got sick of it. My kids just didn't care anymore. So we sold everything on ebay. Got a cool $412 for everything. So that money sits and wait for Wii U.

Skylanders can suck my left one.

I kinda wish I had a dad like you, but then again, I hope no one ever will have a dad like you.
