To the uninformed, Epic Mickey sounds like a cheap children’s game built to cash in on a beloved business icon. But to those that stepped into the world of the game, Epic Mickey was an innovative and challenging platformer packed with innovative puzzles and ridiculous amounts of raw fun. It wasn’t perfect, but it was way more than what the box art would indicate.

Disney is looking to bring gamers back with a second iteration on the franchise, and Epic Mickey 2 is looking pretty much as awesome as the first game. Check it out here:

Of course, that whole video is just a cinematic—we’ll have to wait a while longer to catch a glimpse of actual gameplay elements. But if Disney Interactive can improve on the first game without breaking it of its charm, chances are good this one will turn out just fine.
