Videogame ‘Writing Award’ Given To… |

Now I’m not being picky here, as I’m happy the medium is being recognized, but the award winner doesn’t quite seem…well, great.
Being a Writer’s Guild, the award goes not to the game but to the writer, and rightfully so, Thus, the winner of the Video Game Writing Award goes to…Amy Hennig!

No need to Google it, Amy Hennig is the writer for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. The game is very cinematic, very beautiful and the writing is good too. Good, but not great (I’m sure you’ll agree on that, it’s not bad but not great.)
Videogame’s just have more to offer in terms of scriptwriting, and the fact that Mortal Kombat and Brink were nominees is making me stare at the screen, dribbling and occasionally flinching, reminding myself to breathe.
L.A. Noire wasn't on the list, and what gives? Agh, I don’t know, and I hope that Grand Theft Auto V will be a contender next year, those games have under appreciated writing.
Do you think Uncharted 3 is worthy of the writing award, or is there another game in the last year that you would have preferred to see?
