Upset Mass Effect Fans Raise $30k for Charity |
Listed in: News Tags: BioWare, childs play, mass effect 3
If you’ve been following gaming news, you’ve probably noticed that people are generally pretty pissed about the ending to Mass Effect 3. We’re not going to talk about the endings here for fear of spoiling anything, but it’s worth noting that a significant portion of the ME3 fanbase is creating petitions, writing forum posts and doing all the other things one would expect upset players to do.

One specific outlet, however, has a very nice side effect—generating money for video game-centric charity, Child’s Play. The campaign, titled Retake Mass Effect - Child’s Play, is encouraging disgruntled players to show their dissatisfaction by donating money to the charity. To date, the effort has raised $32,502.60.
The goal of all this donating is to bring “positive attention” to player concerns regarding Mass Effect 3’s current set of endings. The overall campaign, which goes by the name Take Back Mass Effect 3, has earned 25,000 Facebook “likes” and 40,000 supporters in a Bioware forum poll—a healthy number, but a small fraction of the total playerbase. If you want to throw your support (and money) behind the cause, here’s a link: Retake Mass Effect – Child’s Play
It’s unclear whether Bioware has something else up its sleeve—the company continues to hint at big announcements to come later in March. In the meantime, it’s nice to see players venting their frustrations in a way that brings attention to the cause and does some good as well.
What do you think of the Retake Mass Effect Child’s Play campaign?

I think it is the complete opposite of someone being "spoiled" if they are able to see past an issue and actually do good for humanity.

Now you got whiney little bitches complaining the game's ruined cos of a few minutes they don't like, and the sad part is people actually listen to them and report it as news, and i blame the media who report this crap as much as the babies who complain about it.
