Ubisoft's Leaked 2012 Line-Up is Looking Pretty Bad Ass

As always take this rumor with a gigantic pinch of salt. Whoever uncovered this list of Ubisoft's 2012 line-up claims that it was a release, but it's unlikely that it was a release given that just one person posted it. That being said, there are some obvious choices here and couple that are a bit surprising.

The two big surprises are Splinter Cell: Retribution and Assassin's Creed 3. AC 3 isn't surprising because it's being made, rather that it will be out this year. While it looks like Ubisoft is making a habit out of releasing a new AC every year, it had been rumored that they were going to really change things up for the next iteration and most assumed that it would therefore probably take longer time to develop.

The main rumor for its setting is the American Revolution and I for one am hoping that big changes are in store. I've been a fan of the AC franchise since the beginning, but it is getting a bit stale.

Well, that's a pretty big judgment based on three words, but this was the point: we insert opinions into our articles to spark conversation and in this case, like so many others, it worked. That's the long-form explanation of my 3-word joke answer.

Any exchange of ideas is a conversation. Practically all our articles have a little POV in them, rather than just a regurgitation of the news. That's just how it is here.

You mean that's how it's been since the past month. As you can see, most users here have been around longer than that are sick of it already.

If you are going to speak on behalf of QJ at least have more then a few weeks experience versus the 6 years that some of us have. Hell, maybe longer I can't even remember that far back.

Maybe QJ should fire all these ridiculous new writers and find people that can insert PoV without sounding like major douches. To put you on the spotlight and looking at your articles here I can't find a single one with a 100% rating. Hell one of them 20 people thumbs down. It never used to be that way but it is now.

Isn't Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Nr. 3??? and Revelations Nr. 4?

Brotherhood and Revelations are kind of spin-offs while still canonically accurate, kind of like Final Fantasy X-2 and XIII-2.

They both focused on one assassin(Ezio) and so aren't really part of the "trilogy", as far as I know.

I suspect the "3" is because of one of 3 things:

1: The game stars a new assassin relative.

2: The game focuses on Desmond.

3: The name is still being thought of.

It's all pretty much just sequels (i.e. uninspired repeats to cash in with a well known franchise). I've been playing Ghost Recon since Island Thunder, it's been a decade, can we please have a true new game to play?

If I remember correctly, there was an interview or something with Ubisoft Montreal (?) where somebody said that the entire trilogy is all leading up to the end of the world in 2012 and that they (Ubisoft) would look rather foolish if the game wasn't out before the end of the (Assassin's Creed-predicted) world. So not very surprising to see it on any list, rumor or official. I could be wrong here, I am way too lazy to find sources and am working off (admittedly poor, sometimes) memory.

It's possible Fracry 3 will revitalize this series as I hated Farcry 2. Loved Farcry 1 it was an excellent Fps game that I had loads of fun playing, still do some days.

What do expect from a "News" article that says some FPSs and a Dance game are "bad ass" and then adds a purposefully unpopular and insulting opinion?

OP said it himself, he made this article to incite "conversation". And negative rating is what happens when the "conversation" is inspired to be hateful.
