Ubisoft Placing a Lot of Faith in Watch Dogs |
Listed in: News Tags: e3, movies, Ubisoft, watch dogs
Ubisoft’s presentation at E3 is largely considered the best in show. Watch Dogs, the company’s next-gen, open-world hacker-themed game, landed on nearly every observer’s shortlist for “awesome game on display.” After E3, a rush of glowing reviews and previews showed up on the web, touting the incredible features and innovation that is obviously discernible from a ten-minute tech demo.

Hype aside, Watch Dogs does look good. And the IP has huge potential—if the actual title lands as hard as its reveal, Ubisoft could be looking at another Assassin’s Creed-level franchise. So, with that clearly in mind, the company has begun snatching up everything it can find related to the game. This includes a collection of web domains related to a possible Watch Dogs movie; for example, WatchDogsMovie.com.
It’s pretty clear that Ubisoft thinks it has a hit on its hands. The only real question is whether the developer can create a game that lives up to the ridiculous expectations created by its E3 presentation.
