Twisted Metal dev to pursue Casual Games |

Twisted Metal is only a week away for those in the US but it seems that David Jaffe has plans of his own after Valentine's Day and it all has to do with himself and the awesome team at Eat, Sleep, Play. Sadly, ESP, isn't doing so great and has reportedly laid off 8 of it's employees last week.
You may shrug and just say it's only 8 people, but that's a big percentage of the company's workforce, as they only officially employ 26 developers. So the Salt Lake City based studio spoke to the town's newspaper, the Tribune and said that David Jaffe is also expected to leave in the next month to pursue the growing (and terrible) market of casual games.
Now remember Jaffe also helped create the God of War series and for those of you who have played the gory-as-it-is-hard demo of Twisted Metal, know that Jaffe doesn't exactly stray away from that formula but who knows. Scott Campbell, co-founder of Eat, Sleep, Play says that this is a part of the company's shift into looking into the rising popularity of iOS games and it's ability to reach more people and gamers.
Campbell said that "it's a platform that's in our pockets almost 24/7. It's kind of the size and types of games we're playing. You can certainly reach more people. That's pretty exciting for us." Campbell assured us of Jaffe's position on casual games saying that "he's got some new projects that he's excited about, so we're kind of going down two separate paths."
Good luck to Jaffe and to Eat Sleep Play as Twisted Metal drops in the US on February 14th and almost everywhere else on March 1st.
