It's always a problem when game companies fight but it's even when they come together to work on something they have a passion for. That's what every part of a creative industry needs or otherwise why bother...other than money of course, sweet Canadian money.

Former employees from Eidos Montreal and Ubisoft Montreal have come together to create a brand spanking new Canuck studio called Tribute Games, which has been started and will be based in Montreal.

The studio will have an indie ethos and focus primarily on indie titles for consoles, maybe PC. It will be headed up by Justin Cyr, Jonathan Lavigne and Jean-Francois Major - each of which has a core speciality at the heart of the games industry. "We chose the name Tribute Games because when we make games, we want to pay tribute to all the cool games from our childhood," said Lavigne on the website's blog.

Their first game will be called Wizorb and is due for release as an Xbox Live Indie title with a PC release will follow shortly after. I wish them the best of luck and can't wait to see where this love comes from and where it will eventually end up.

I love Canada...
