Ó

THQ’s assets hit the auction block today in an effort to pay off their debts and hopefully save some employees from being out of work.  Of course all of the major company’s we expected to show up did and after the bidding was over the dust settled this is who got what.

  • Homefront was bought by Crytek
  • Relic Games (Warhammer 40K, Company of Heroes) was bought by Sega
  • THQ Montreal was bought by Ubisoft
  • South Park was bought by Ubisoft
  • Evolve was bought by Take-Two
  • Volition Inc (Saints Row) was bought by Koch Media (aka Deep Silver)
  • Metro was bought by Koch Media (aka Deep Silver)

But unfortunately for some employees of the THQ family some of its assets did not go on the auction block.  That means just as THQ said in their letter to the employees, “If you are an employee of an entity that is not included in the sale, we regret that your position will end." Vigil was not for sale at the auction and it will remain part of the Chapter 11 case filed by THQ Late last year.

How do you fail to mention their oldest franchise, WWE series, which was acquired by Take Two. IMO I'm glad T2 was the one that purchased them, maybe now the games will be as good as they once were.
