If there's one thing you should know about Thor: God of Thunder, let it be this: it is "not a movie game".

This was the sentiment stressed by Andrew Rubino of Liquid Entertainment, at a recent Sega press event.

"We're not just playing the movie over again - that's not happening. We have our storyline written by Matt Fraction. Yes, we share some elements with the movie - obviously. Our Thor looks like Chris Hemsworth, we have some voice acting and likenessess - but we tried to do our own thing.

Our goal was not to make a movie game," pointed out the combat designer. "Our goal was to make a good game."

Check out Rubino's full interview video in this clip below.

Thor: God of Thunder comes out May 3, 2011 in North America.

as a fan, what are your expectations of the game? i am hoping they don't blotch up the movie, as is usually the case.

now ... where have I heard this before ... ow yea , it was right before they released the game for Wolverine... which was not a movie tie-in either. If you don't want it to be like that, make the characters look like they do in the comics and not the way they do in the movie... sheez

Ugh, so many knuckleheads are going to play the game first then moan and cry about the movie not being like the game?
