This Crappy Ice Planet Just Keeps Getting Better |

The first Lost Planet game suffered from some strange translation (among other things), and the second one had great co-op and that was about it. Both were fun, but not terribly deep. For Lost Planet 3, it looks like Capcom and Spark Unlimited are putting a little extra effort into it.
The most striking thing about the new Lost Planet 3 trailer is the drastic improvement to the voice acting. Lost Planet 2 delved into almost-offensive territory with some ethnic stereotypes in its voice acting, while the voice acting in this one sounds like movie quality. The graphics, of course, look better as well.
The other video below is an interview with one of the producers of the game. It also features some gameplay throughout as well. Here we learn that the episodic nature of the previous game and the linear nature of both games have been done away with. It isn't exactly a sandbox, but you'll have NPCs with which you can interact to get missions, etc. We also learn that this is a prequel to the previous games.
Lost Planet 3 is due out in early 2013.
