These Rotting Corpses Apparently Don't Stink |

The Walking Dead Episode One, "A New Day," has made its way onto the PSN as of yesterday, and people are saying good things about it. The initial gameplay videos had many people scratching their heads. A point-and-click, QTE-based zombie game? It didn't seem to make a lot of sense. Unless you've actually been paying attention to the comics or TV show, that is.
That is to say that all that stuff between the zombie kills - the talking and character interaction - is the majority of the story. And it's the same in the game. Best of all, reviewers are saying it's very well done. You have choices to make in dialogue, and a very short time to make them. NPCs will react in different ways to those choices and they may be life-and-death choices, meaning they will be far-reaching in future episodes.
You play Lee Everett, a convict who managed to escape custody in the midst of the zombie outbreak. But is he guilty or innocent or the crime of which he is accused? Apparently, in the game you get to decide. Is your Lee going to survive at all costs or is he going to help those he can along the way? It's up to you.
Episode One is only $5 and if you follow out all the branching choices amongst the three different save slots you can get six hours of gameplay out of it - and reviewers are saying that the story is significantly different depending on your choices, i.e. this guy's dead, this guy's alive, etc. There are pre-order deals to save you some dough on future episodes as well.
There's still no word on when it will be out on Xbox Live.
Anyone played this yet? What's the verdict?
