You've seen moves showing the different veterans and their moves, but MK wouldn't be complete without the stalwart Earth-defending Thundergod.
Since the first Mortal Kombat, Raiden has always been the Earth realm's guardian from evil. In fact, he pleaded with the elder gods to give Earth a fighting chance at keeping their world from merging with Shao Kahn's. He got that particular wish, but he doesn't always have his way.
As a fighter, Raiden still has his classic bag of tricks. He can still fly forward like Superman, notably without the funny chant that it used to come with. He can still teleport - and it's becoming more and more useful now with better combat options. And yes, he still throws a lot of lightning around - he's the god of thunder, duh.
