And apparently others believe the same as well with Oculus procuring $250,000 in mere hours of launching its campaign on Kickstarter. Funders of the Kickstarter campaign though will not receive company shares. Rather they will receive a developer kit if they donate at least $300. To date the company has raised more than $400,000 in their 30 day geared campaign.

The Oculus Rift is an eye wear set that Oculus intends to market to the mass public. With the going market price yet to be determined The Oculus Rift consists of stereoscopic 3-D technology that is designed to immerse the gamer in a mind-boggling 110 degree view with head tracking. The ground breaking gaming eye wear is set to be released in 2013.
The Oculus Rift also has prominent backers such as John Carmack who recently re-issued the legendary Doom BFG game which will mark the first Oculus laden game. Not wanting to be outdone Epic Games announced their intentions to integrate its Gear of War franchise with the Oculus technology.
