Whether you're saying this as a joke or as a lover of communal sharing of knowledge, Wikipedia really has completely changed the way that we use the internet. Think about your Google search results for any casual question or even a school project, and all of you will recall at least taking a quick look at the publicly created encyclopedia that allows for completely open edits. The fact that any old person off the street can just waltz in and add information that we may someday take as fact is definitely an obvious risk of using the service, but the fact is, nine times out of ten they're actually not a horrible source.

With that said, there are definitely still times where you might run into the odd and funny words of a practical joker that has yet to have been changed. Kim Jong-Il looks like Carlton Banks? It's obviously a joke but at one point in time it was actual information posted in an encyclopedia. Tell me again why you don't love the internet? All the way back in February, if you were browsing the page for Halo 3, you may have come across the phrase "although it won’t look any better than Halo 2," and you probably assumed it was just a troll. Think again! Sources actually found that the comment actually came from someone at Sony's Liverpool office! No real follow up has been found for this, but one thing is certain: sometimes we all love it when corporations act like complete and utter children. That is what made this story rise to the cream of the crop for 2012. Not to mention the Microsoft and Sony fans both had their flamethrowers ready for the comments section.
Other than Sony acting immaturely in 2012, they also acted insecurely too. While some false hacking claims were made, here's one that really got the company all hot and bothered.
