The Amazing Spider-Man Looks Quite Arkham-y

Though they're in different universes, Spider-Man learned a few things from Batman. In other words, Beenox apparently saw what Rocksteady did with Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and liked what they saw. This is by no means the first time they've put stealth in a Spider-Man game, but the resemblance in the video below is uncanny.

That being said, it looks pretty darn awesome. The stealth moves involve the Web Rush mechanic that we've seen mentioned before and let you do silent takedowns and leap into and out of combat, just like you do in Arkham Asylum/City. It looks like the same buttons are used, even.

This may have to get moved ahead in the old GameFly queue.

The Amazing Spider-Man is out now. Anyone played it yet? What's the verdict?

I think it's running on the same engine.

I think it's running off the same code.
There's too many similarities between the game play, sure they may have coded it from scratch (they didn't) but why code the exact same game play mechanics?

Its actually pretty badass but like the spiderman games before it it gets repetative. use web to slow enemies. beat the enemy then it goes to a cutscene after about 3 beat downs and you won. the combo system isnt as fluid for sure but if you get tue hang of it its pretty nice. The open world is repetative. beat this guy carry this person do some time trial races. its not as awesome as the side missions in arkham city that were mini stories they were just cookie cutter fillers. that and the suits are date locked so you have to change the date on your console to december before you can unlock the suits... whch is bullshit. but i would say it isnt as large as spiderman 2 but its a hell of a lot better than spiderman 3 or the ones after.

You were able to do stealth takedowns and such in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
