Telltale Games is Sorry for The Walking Dead Taking So Long

The Walking Dead is an episodic video game that was supposed to be coming out in monthly installments. Right off the bat, however, things took too long. Episode 2 of the Walking Dead didn't make it in the time frame it was supposed to and the fans figured this would be a running problem.

Telltale Games wants to assure us that this is not the case.

"Although we can't give you an exact date at this time, we can say that episode three will be ready in the middle of August, and that we and our partners will do all that we can to release all platforms and regions as close together as possible," says the post on the Telltale blog.

Episode 2 of the Walking Dead only recently hit the PSN, well behind its release on the XBLA.

"Our goal from day one has been to deliver your game episodes as quickly as possible, and where we can, simultaneously across all platforms and regions," the post continues.

"We've been working closely with our phenomenally supportive partners to try to make this a reality. We will continue to work on this and furthermore, we will strive to improve our communication with you so that you know what's happening.

"Please rest assured that we are doing all we can to get your game episodes to you as quickly as possible."

Do you accept this apology, or any other from a developer after a fumble? Do you think Telltale will be able to keep up with a monthly release schedule?

The wait sucks, but to be honest I can handle it. What sucked was there was no mention of a tentative release. The month went by and there was no new episode and no approximation as to when the game would be released. It seems we didn't get an approximation for the release until they knew within a week or two of its release and that just feels unacceptable. I accept that it's not done, I want them to take their time and make it good and I can wait for a good game, but you need to keep your fans informed if youre not going to make your planned release. If its going to take longer, just say so and give us an approximation, this kind of work can be hard to estimate but it's not difficult to give a broad window of release. Take the time to make the game efficient and entertaining but for God's sake let us know if its taking longer than planned and inform us when we should expect it. Dont make me have to log into the game over and over again just to see if its been released yet. That was unacceptable.
