The next Tales Of title will be Tales Of Xillia 2, as announced during the Tales Of Festival in Japan yesterday. Yes, that festival exists.

Hideo Baba, the game’s producer announced the title, which is interesting to see as the games are usually Tales Of [Insert New Title here], so a direct sequel is like FFX-2. But with more clothes.

But like FFX-2, the game will feature a dual handgun wielding protagonist, as we were able to see in the game’s trailer, also released at the festival.

The video shows not only a trailer, but a good bit of gameplay, so you’ll know what to expect when the title hits at the end of the year. So far it’s a Japan-only release, like Tales Of Exillia, but with dates and prices to be announced on June 27^th, one can hope for some sort of Western-based announcement, even if it’s just for the first game (which wouldn’t be a bad idea).

With the PS3 being region-free, you still have the option of learning some Japanese and playing it, it might be quicker than waiting for a Western release.
