Take2: There doesn't need to be a Bioshock movie |
Listed in: News Tags: bioshock, Irrational Games, movie games, prince of persia, take2

Recently, Ubisoft struck a Hollywood deal to make an Assassin's Creed movie and even got full creative control. Of course, this often sparks the usual discussion of oh what's all going on in them video game movies now. Well let's talk about Bioshock then.
Irrational Games and Take 2 have started talking about how they don't want to make a movie because they don't need to. They said they were quite close to getting it made and even had a deal and director, Gore “Pirate of the Carribean” Verbinski, but they said they have no “burning desire” to have a movie made about their game.
They have two conditions for getting it made. They want their fans to actually get something they want and they want to introduce the game series to new fans and be an accurate representation of that experience. Take 2 also knows that there are plenty of differences between movies and games but they're from the same narrative DNA with story beats and world building. They just don't care if it gets made right now,or with the wrong deal and I could not agree more.
