Sucker Punch has spoken out yet again regarding the acquisition of their company by Sony. Co-founder Chris Zimmerman spoke to Gamespot to basically reassure fans that the said business move will not cramp their style.

"I don't think it will have much of an effect on our day-to-day operations," he said. "Everyone that's been here for the past dozen years is still here; we still have the same goals in mind. We're still working on the same things. So the day-to-day isn't going to change, I think. We're expecting this is going to put us in a position we can continue to work on innovative genre-defining content. That's kind of why we're doing this. And we've been in that position before, and we think we're going to continue to be in that position."

Sony announced their acquisition of the inFamous developer just yesterday, saying that "The addition of Sucker PUnch to SCE WWS reiterates our dedication to developing world class gaming experiences that can only be found on the PlayStation platform." Also included under Sucker Punch's game developing belt is the Sly Cooper series.

i think their partnership has been strong all throughout. i have no doubt sony will be just as supportive to sucker punch, just like they are with media molecule.

"Sucker Punch reassures fans Sony acquisition won't be a bother"

Why do we need to be reassured? Sony's first party developers usually seem pretty happy

exactly. The best example would be Media Molecule, which was bought by Sony, and look how it turned out: little big planet
2 is an awesome game.

MM is a perfect example of why fan's of sucker punch's IP's should be concerned. How many times did MM promise that there would be no seaqule to LPB, ever, ever, EVER!!! Almost at once after being bought out by sony, work began on the project that never was supposed to happen.

I beg of you sony, please dont try to turn infamous into another god of war. It was an amazing set of games, but its over now, please let it be.

So you're saying that the sequel to LBP is garbage? From the look of it, it's a pretty darn good game. As for God of War, it's an awesome game too.

Is LBP2 garbage, no. Was it completely able to be achieved by the companies original plan of both free and paid DLC? Without a doubt yes it was. So no, I'm not going to twist my arm patting it on the back when the owners of the IP promised me it would never exist in the first place.

As for GOW, I enjoy the game quite a bit, but for fucks sake, its time to move on. If nothing else, could we get a different mythology with a new protagonist like you promised us we would see after the original trilogy was completed?

Man this guy is all about recalling promises. I don't remember MM promising over and over that there would be no sequel to LBP, and whos to say that GOW developers aren't doing exactly that? I'm stoked that Sony is taking the initiative on this. It's a business and you can only rely on a developers loyalty for so long (insomniac)
