Sony Liverpool Studios has been a much beloved part of the PlayStation universe. The development team originally known as Psygonosis has created a launch title for every single Sony console since its inception, and is most known for its work on the incredible Wipeout racing series. That's why gamers were shocked when the big guns over at Sony announced that the studio would be closing last month. Recent evidence suggests however, that they may in fact be back from the dead.

Whenever any development team decides to close, one of the more popular questions asked by many gamers is what happens to all of that unfinished stuff that they had been working on. In the case of Sony Liverpool, it has been rumored that they were working on a Wipeout an action game title for the PlayStation 4. It would be a shame to see all of that work go to waste am I right? However, according to an updated Facebook and Twitter page, the company claims that "we are alive" meaning that some of these games just might see the light of day on a next gen console.

Along with the tweet is an image that almost assuredly has something to do with the future of Wipeout. The graphic contains two spacecrafts racing, while the one in the rear looks to have fallen victim to a fiery blast. Not much is known about the development more than that, but when we find out you will be the first to know. Do you think Wipeout will be back on PS4 or maybe even other consoles? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section!
