People were worried about the gems mechanic as it relates to tournaments, so Capcom's trying to alleviate their fears. This alleviation will come in the form of a post-launch, free downloadable patch.

If you haven't heard, the gem system of the game provides players with numerous ways in which they can customize their character by modifying speed, attack, and defense. Fans, doing as fans do, have complained that the gems system will change the game significantly - especially in tournaments. Capcom is trying to allay those fears.

Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono told Eurogamer that the developers are aware of players' concerns that the gem mechanic will add time to preparing for fights and that the tournament support mode they have prepared will address all that. He also said that they will be considering future fan feedback to further modify things if need be.

Street Fighter X Tekken will be released on March 6th.
