Sony's Music Unlimited Gets a Quality Boost |
Listed in: News Tags: audio, music unlimited, Sony, subscription
If you are a subscriber of Sony’s Music Unlimited service, you might notice a difference in audio quality the next time you listen to your favorite tunes.

Sony announced that Music Unlimited’s catalog of approximately 18 million songs received a nice boost in audio quality from just 48kbps all the way up to 320kbps. The change was made for subscribers who listen to Music Unlimited via the company’s web-based player, as well as the PlayStation 3 and Android devices. The bump up to 320kbps is just on the aforementioned platforms for the time being, but it’s also expected to come to iOS devices and the PS Vita later this year.
Just in case you are unfamiliar with Music Unlimited, think of it as Sony’s version of Spotify. Users can get streaming access to a large digital library of music for monthly rates of $4.99 and $9.99.
