Sony CEO asked to step down

Shareholders have voiced their concerns about Howard Stringer's role with Sony.

With Sony stocks down after the recent PSN hacking, shareholders requested that Sony CEO Howard Stringer step down from his position.

Stringer did admit that their request was reasonable, "as Sony's stock has dropped following the March earthquake and tsunami." Stirger went on to apologize for the PSN hacks, and said that 90% of their users have returned to PSN.

However, shareholders felt that the hacks took place after inappropriate comments by Sony management. Stringer brushed off the comment, saying that Sony was only trying to protect its users and their software.

"Executive Vice President Kaz Hirai also stepped in and said that Sony was targeted because they took a variety of steps to protect their intellectual property. This is something they were doing not just for themselves, but for a global eco system that includes developers, third party publishers and retailers."

I have never wanted to pirate a game for my ps3, aren't they like 60gigs? what I wanted was a system that I could run a linux distro on while sitting next to my home PC. That is why I paid extra for a first model PS3. Sony stole that functionality from their consumers and told everyone it was for our protection.

First things first, I'm not American ;)

Secondly, where in my post do you see me hating on the Japanese? Please do tell, because my post isn't a post of hate, it is a general statement about how certain aspects of Japanese society work.

And also,I guess that my post is being disliked by Japanophiles who are too blind to actually get what I'm trying to get at in my post. But then again, as long as Japan keeps on cranking out Anime and obscure videogames, no one cares about the countries financial or political problems....

You make huge assumptions about who I am and what I do and then start a rant about things which have absolutely no connection to my comments or reality. If you have a gripe with America, that is fine with me, but I don't see why you have to project that onto me... I never even said anything about America to begin with.

The comment I posted that you find 'hurtful', wasn't hurtful and was nothing but a mere analysis or rather comment on certain parts of Japanese society. (If you find a post like mine hurtful, I'm pretty sure you are butt-hurt 24/7 about all kinds of stuff you hear in the news...)
Given, Financial problems might be a bit of a stretch, I should have probably said economical difficulties, although they have emerged and hit harder due to the Lehman shock, problems there are a plenty. For example, talks to up the 5% consumer tax to 15% don't happen for no reason.

They took NOTHING back! You updated it! You didn't /have/ to!! You had the choice: newer games and PSN, or otheros. It was THEIR software. It was promised as a feature of the software that was loaded ONTO it, you idiot. You only had to update if you wanted to play new games that THEY license, and if you wanted to play on THEIR networks. You american are so very stupid indeed. Stringer hasn't step down because of the hacker issue, he should step down because he is a failure as a CEO. Sony reported a $3 billion Net Loss for fiscal year 2010. That loss has nothing to do with the hacker issue. Infact sony didn't even include the financial damages from the PSN outraged into their 2010 fiscal year.

Did Sony made any money in fiscal year of 2009 or 2008? NO.. All result in net loss because of Stringer stupidity and incompetent.

No wait I am white American so how dare the Japanese ask a White Welsh American to step down as CEO. How dare they. Infact all Japanese company should have American as CEO, even toyota and honda and Canon.
