Prestige has been an integral part of the Call of Duty franchise for some time now. The basic gist is that when you reach max level, you can switch to Prestige mode to start leveling again in a new tier. It’s one method Infinity Ward and Treyarch have used to keep people playing longer and harder, and for the most part it has been viewed as a success.

But Black Ops II offers even more than the traditional Prestige system. According to a tweet from design director David Vonderhaar, you can prestige any specific gun in the game two times over. It wasn’t explained what exactly this means for players, but it’s just one more layer of unlockables there for the truly hardcore to chase.
