Skyrim to Revisit Cyrodill and Morrowind? Hey, Why the Hell Not?

Back in November, a fan revealed that he had discovered the landmasses from previous Elder Scrolls titles on the fringes of Skyrim's map. At the very least now Bethesda is now acknowledging that the landmasses are there, but not saying much about whether or not they'll be available for play in the future.

Skyrim's director, Todd Howard, said at DICE last week that basically the devs knew that people would be climbing the highest mountains to see if those lands were there and that they wanted some consistency. He wouldn't elaborate on whether or not they'd ever use them, but he did say that they aren't fleshed out in any way at this point, which isn't much of a surprise.

So DLC set on one of the aforementioned landmasses could be possible, which for my money would be preferable to another dungeon/cave to explore or something.

So, if I turn off the borders and go out to the other lands, and I confirm and take photos it's new news, right?

It's very lame to insult a commenter to excuse yourself for creating an article that gave nothing much to know that most didn't know already.

Aside from that:

It would seem that they might have just put it there for looks and not for expanding it to the point where it would be playable...although I would think that if they did, that would be the best thing(although most likely buggiest) they've ever done.

Also, they said earlier that none of the DLC would be the size of or greater than Shivering Isles, but none smaller than Knights of the Nine, didn't they?

But I agree with your "there for fluff" deduction. That's all that could be taken away from their response.

I thought I remembered Bethesda saying no Dlc for Skyrim. What there going back on there word now?

All so if it has not already been released, then it will in the future a mod kit for player created mods.

We instead turn our sites onto something more worth while like the Knights of the nine and Shivering isles combined". What that means is that they want it to be a HUGE DLC like... Idk making the rest of the continent? Sounds feasible and if anyone can make a great single player game even better its Bethesda. The only small DLC they want to add is some of those created by the Bethesda devs from the jump earlier this month about them mucking around. So basically it was like a little vacation for them to create what they want before they commit themselves to sculpting 2 whole additions to skyrim. Being Tamriel itself!!!

I’ve heard this rumour & I honestly can’t see it happening; I mean do you realise how much time & work it would take to rebuild the previous provinces to Skyrim standards?
I say wait until the Elder Scrolls games have covered every province in Tamriel & then if possible make history’s biggest game by combining them all into one & updating the older ones to the standards of that time. It’d take a long time but it’d be worth it.

WHOA DOOD! I never played the first few Elder Scrolls.. It would be awesome to stroll through their lands, what is it.. Hammerfell and High Rock?.. AWESOME DOOD!..
