Skyrim: Hearthfire – A DLC Zombie Apocalypse? |
Listed in: News Tags: Bethesda, dawnguard, dlc, hearthfire, rumors, skyrim, tales and tallows, the elder scrolls
It’s been a few weeks since Skyrim’s Dawnguard expansion, and no doubt dedicated players are starting to grow tired of being/slaying vampires. We know that more DLC is coming, we just don’t know when. Or what it will be about. Or how much it will cost. Or…..or anything, really.

Until today. We’ve just learned that Bethesda trademarked the term “Hearthfire” back in May—a term Elder Scrolls devotees will recognize as the name of the September month in Tamriel (typing that sentence made me un-lose my virginity). Industry insiders are speculating that Hearthfire will be the next DLC story expansion released for Skyrim, and that it may have something to do with a zombie apocalypse.
According to the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages, there is a holiday that takes place within Hearthfire known as Tales and Tallows. Here’s the explanation:
“No other holiday divides the people of Tamriel like the 3rd of Hearth Fire. A few of the oldest, more superstitious men and women do not speak all day long for fear that the evil spirits of the dead will enter their bodies. Most citizens enjoy the holiday, calling it Tales and Tallows, but even the most lighthearted avoid dark streets, for everyone knows the dead do walk tonight. Only the Mages Guild completely thrives on this day. In celebration of the oldest magical science, necromancy, all magical items are half price today.”
So….Draugr? And lots of them? Sounds like Skyrim’s existing content to me. Snap!
What are your thoughts on this rumored expansion?
