Skyrim Console Patches are Live |
Listed in: News Tags: Bethesda, skyrim
Hey, remember how Bethesda submitted Skyrim patch 1.5 to Microsoft and Sony over ten days ago and the patch was still somehow not out? Well, it looks like the long road through certification has finally come to an end, and 1.5 is now live. For Xbox users, anyway—PS3 owners can pick it up later today.

This patch brings new animations for melee weapons, new killcams for projectiles and spells and an “improved” transition between swimming at the surface and going underwater. You’ll also find an enormous host of bugfixes, such as:
• General crash fixes and memory optimizations
• Fixed issue with Deflect Arrows perk not calculating properly
• In “A Cornered Rat,” the death of certain NPCs no longer blocks progression
• Fixed issue where Farkas would not give Companion’s quests properly
• Fixed crash when loading saves that rely on data that is no longer being loaded
• Followers sneak properly when player is sneaking
• Fixed issue with weapon racks not working properly in Proudspire Manor
Of course, that’s just a small selection of the overall package. If you want to read the patch notes in full, you can check them out on Bethesda’s blog.
So, if you haven’t already, go download yourself some Skyrim patch. And then head out into the wilds and show off your fancy new moves. Oh, and that pesky PS3 bug that made the game almost unplayable? It should be resolved now. Emphasis on the “should.”
