Shadows of the Damned gets first trailer

This video here gives us a first look at Grasshopper Manufacturer's Shadows of the Damned.

Needless to say, it's as creepy as it can get, with the gameplay trailer opening to reveal a girl, Paula, hanging by the beams of her apartment. Suddenly, as if it's straight out from the scene of Species, she opens her eyes, and from her back comes out a full-grown creature, horrifying ugly and with red glowing eyes.

Unfortunately, there's more of them around, so it seems, and so you're definitely going to have your hands full gunning them down. It's everything that a gore lover could ever ask for, so go ahead, click on that play button to check it out.

Shadows of the Damned is expected to come out on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on June 21st. We would've gotten it sooner had the June 7th release date pushed through, but it's been pushed back only by a couple of weeks anyway. Besides, as you've seen from the video above, it certainly looks like it's worth the wait.
