Say Goodbye to DualShock |
Listed in: News Tags: controllers, DualShock, Playstation, ps4, rumors, Sony
We’ve heard tons of rumors about the new PlayStation over the last few weeks, most of which center on when exactly Sony will admit that it’s working on a console and reveal it to the public. But here’s something a bit more specific: A source for CVG has indicated that the PS4’s new controller won’t look much like the DualShock controller we’ve all come to associate with the brand.

The basic gist is that Sony is still testing controller designs, and the great majority of them aren’t based on the DualShock layout. Another source has hinted that the new controller is aimed at integrating some of the “interface philosophies” as the PS Vita. The most likely interpretation of this statement is that Sony might have a touchscreen on its new controller, but naturally there’s no way to be sure.
Oh, and here’s the other big rumor: A reveal is coming in weeks. Not months.

Stick to Dreamcast's design, which has been improved from time to time by Microsoft and Nintendo.
For DualShock's defence, the PS2 DS was actually pretty good but then Sony screwed and downgraded it with PS3 DS.

As long as they don't completely abandon the dual shock's basic core design, I'm all for it.
