Oh Bethesda, how you work in mysterious ways? Has anyone noticed how many things have come up recently that have been "leaked" or "secretly released" about their upcoming game, Skyrim. The recently little bit of fun that's come through the tubes, is the release of either an early look or a real map based on the upcoming land based in Skyrim.

With some lovely curves and some wet areas, the map is a ye olde English map that was pulled from one of the collector's editions that were given to a Russian magazine or gaming website, the source is uncertain at this point. The map features nine fairly explorable cities, each marked with a particular crest, land classically dotted with some smaller towns around them. Surrounding the whole map are craggly mountains except to the North, where the Sea of Ghosts breaks along the shoreline.

I think it will be a lot better than previous Elder Scrolls games because the map looks a lot tighter as opposed to Bethesda's vast wasteland's between towns, which they kinda fixed for the Fallout series. The games will have some real fun with how the game's map really works in the game with some kind of marking and hopefully the dragons will help too by not burning them.

Regarding the leaks, I do have two theories, they're either trying to move away from the millions in legion to the beardy sky God Notch, being sued by their bored lawyers or they're really worried about the lack of marketing that Bethesda has for their upcoming game. Don't get me wrong, the stories we post and for everyone else who mentions their name probably gives them some brand recognition, positive or negative, all press is good press till it comes out that the game sucks or is awesome.
