Rumor: Monolith Working on a Hobbit Game...Actually Two Games, Hobbitses |
Listed in: News Tags: Monolith Productions, the hobbit video game, warner bros

The rumor mill is really churning today. The latest to come down the pike states that Monolith Productions, those who brought us F.E.A.R. and more recently, Gotham City Impostors, is working on two Hobbit games. It's a bit unclear, but essentially they and Warner Bros. have been handed the reins of both games that will coincide with the Hobbit movies coming out this year and next.
It all comes from Superannuation, who has apparently proven a reliable source in the past.
The rumor reads, "As to what Monolith/Warner Bros. Games Seattle are up to right now - pretty sure it is a little fantasy action RPG-lite called The Hobbit: Part One."
The source later added, "It also sounds like Warner Bros. Seattle will handling the tie-in for the second Hobbit film."
To clarify the Warner Bros/Monolith restructuring and how it will affect these two games, he added, "Snowblind (developer of LOTR: War in the North) basically no longer exists, so WB Games Seattle is more or less Monolith and some other dev support/publishing staff and whatnot."
I don't know about these games (though I like Monolith's past work), but the movies...oh yes, precious. Gives them to us!
