Rockstar: Possible new Bully game in the works |
Listed in: News Tags: bully, canis canem edit, dan houser, Rockstar Games

Max Payne 3 is coming next year too, nearly forgot about that, but how could I when it's the whole reason Dan Houser was talking with GamaSutra this week about the upcoming game and Rockstar's focus to other titles that don't rhyme with Rand Gleft Tauto.
When questioned about the development cycle between Max Payne 2 and 3 ('twas eight years) Houser discussed how they pick up their projects and the discussion of a sequel to the PS2 game Bully (or Canis Canem Edit, for us PAL folks) and to say the least, it doesn't look grim for someone like Rockstar Games.
Houser said that there is a lot of time before starting a sequel and they wait out all the major gaming emotions ("excitement or disappointment and everything else") and then they see what they should do with a sequel.
They didn't want to start doing Bully 2 instantly but wanted to make sure they'd do something of worth...and I do quote, "'You can do Max, and then we will see what we can do with Bully.' So it was really waiting for the slot to open up and the group to open up to at least start work on it.", so it looks like Rockstar will be developing it when they get some free time...which will probably occur in 2015 if rumours of Red Dead Redemption 2 don't crop up.
While I bought the game when it was released on the Wii, the game did not sell as well as Rockstar thought, or as well as GTA, and when it was eventually released on 360 and PC, the sales didn't get any better. So after all these years, a brand new engine and depending on this news article, how much people still care about the game, there could be a sequel in Rockstar's devs...it'd be nice if Team Bondi got a shot...

They could take Naughty Bear and turn it around completely if they wanted to.

"Rockstar are not working on a sequel. Either that or they simply haven't approached me for the job."
Which means we wont be seeing the same great music return. Here's hoping they'll contact him soon.
