Since the launch of Sony's flagship console, Resistance has become a mainstay for PlayStation gamers. Plenty of  Xbox fanboys merely scoffed off this series as the opposing answer to the surge in popularity of Halo, but over time the franchise has developed into a completely unique experience that enthralls and excites gamers all around the world. With the recent release of the new Super Slim PS3 however, there are probably plenty of new gamers out there that haven't gotten the chance to try out these unique titles, and if that happens to be you then you should pick up the Resistance Collection this winter!

As part of the box set, the lucky ones who purchase this compilation will be given the main three games in the series, complete with added DLC for Resistance 2 and 3. However, even if you have played some of these games before, the developers are even offering current Chimera fighters the chance to get something new as well. As is par with the tech that Sony seems to be shoving down our throats these days, all games in the Resistance pack will also have 3D support as well as support for the more or less defunct PlayStation Move accessory. All of this can be yours for just a small investment of $40, so especially if you've never tried them, you would be remiss to lose out on a deal like this.

The fact that Sony is however releasing a trilogy of games like this does indeed beg a few questions. With Insomniac recently admitting that they would be ending development for the franchise, could this packaged release be the final nail in the coffin for the much beloved series? Knowing how Sony operates, my guess is a new developer will be inclined to continue the story, but that doesn't guarantee they will ever be quite as awesome as these three games were. Viva la Resistance!
