After the company's post-earnings conference call, which sees its first quarter result in losses, THQ CEO Brian Farrell said: "We are disappointed in our first quarter financial performance. Sales of Red Faction: Armageddon and our licensed kids titles were below our expectations."
The curent audience of Red Faction is "niche," Farrell said, "Given that that title, now in two successive versions, has just found a niche, we do not intend to carry forward with that franchise in any meaningful way." He went on to add: "In today's hit-driven, core gaming business, even highly-polished titles with a reasonable following like Red Faction face a bar that continues to move higher and higher," he said. "Moving forward, our core game titles must meet a very high quality standard with strong creative and product differentiation, appeal to a broad audience, and be marketed aggressively," Farrell added.
So what will happen to developer Volition? Farrel said that they will be helping with Guillermo del Toro's upcoming project, inSANE, which is set to begin in 2013.

I remind of a simpler time when the 16bit Nintendo was out and ppl think "OMG THAT IS THE BEST VIDEO GAME EVER" when they see super maio world...
Now is more like "This isn't COD, this isn't COD, this is no street fighter, this is no Final Fantasy..." and keep going...
Armaggedon was a very cool game, it could be better, but indeed was a very cool game, the destruction/construction system is something that, at least i, never seen in any game before...
